RE- Prayer and Liturgy
Prayer and Liturgy is an important part of our school day. We participate in whole-school liturgy, class liturgy and pupil-led liturgy. Our Year 6s have also run a prayer and liturgy club for the younger children during lunchtimes. Throughout our period of online learning, we continued to gather together in the virtual world to share the word of God and enjoy whole-school liturgy as a school community.
What a reflective prayer and liturgy we had in Class 2 this week. The focus was on 'A Home for all- Land' as part of the Season of Creation. The children thought about the importance of looking after the land, and how the God is similar to the rich soil which provides nutrients and allows plants to grow. God is spiritually nutritious for us.
Class 2 Children thoroughly enjoyed their Class liturgy on Creation in our new Hideaway House! What a perfect location for reflecting on God's beautiful creation. (September 2021)
Class 3 enjoyed their prayer and liturgy session all about 'The Nativity of Our Lady'. We all like to have balloons cakes and candles on our birthday so they thought Mary deserved it too! (September 2021)
Year 6 plan and present a pupil-led liturgy every week. The children work very hard to use scripture and write prayers. We follow the 'Gather, Listen, Respond and Go Forth' structure to our liturgies; the Year 6 children are doing so well with their liturgies. We all thoroughly enjoy them.
Mrs Byrne led a number of online prayer and Liturgy sessions for the whole school. It was so lovely to see all the children's smiling faces!
Mrs Byrne led a special Prayer and Liturgy for the whole school on world book day to celebrate the most special book of all!
Another beautiful pupil-led liturgy from our Class 4 pupils. This time we were able to invite some of the parents to join us.
Our Year 6s have been running our wonderful Prayer and Liturgy club at lunch times. They have written their own prayers, planned liturgies, explored scripture and participated in fun activities around our Gospel Values.
The children enjoyed some quiet and reflective time with Father Paul today in our prayer room about the Year of the Eucharist during the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Thank you Father Paul!
Class 2 had a very reflective prayer and liturgy led by Mrs Farrell all about the Good Samaritan.
Our Year 6s are getting really confident at leading our whole-school prayer and liturgy. Well done children!
Our Year 6 Prayer and Liturgy Club planned and led our reflective prayer time.
